The new year is a time for new beginnings. Every January 1st most of us make New Year’s resolutions? What is your New Year’s Resolution? Did you even make one? I’ve made many over the years that I have not stuck to. However, there is one resolution, which is mostly just a goal I made for myself a few years ago. I actually followed through with this one and continue to reevaluate my progress at the beginning of each year.

It is a simple one. Take better care of myself. I made a pledge to myself to start doing things to make me feel better about myself. While not being overly specific it allowed me to start a new year with a more broad-based goal. How I got there was up to me and full of options.

Sure, losing weight, exercising more, giving up this and that were things I could do to feel better and healthier but this resolution didn’t define me into one specific task that I could fail at. It gave me many options that I could succeed at with one goal… feeling better about myself.
