Estrogen is one of the most important hormones in a woman's body, yet it is often dismissed. Estrogen balance is also critically important because estrogen levels that are too low or too high can cause many undesirable problems. Most people do not even know there are 3 types of estrogen in the female body, and one type is protective of cancers while the other is considered cancer causing.

Low estrogen levels can cause hot flashes, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse, mood swings, breast tenderness, headaches/migraines, and even depression. Symptoms of high estrogen levels include bloating, decreased sex drive, irregular periods, headaches or changes in mood, fibrocystic breast disease, and weight gain. It is also believed high estrogen levels and low progesterone contributes to polycystic ovarian disease.

Appropriately balanced estrogen levels not only regulate your periods, it also decreases PMS symptoms, treats infertility issues, and reduces the chances of uterine and ovarian cancers. Estrogen Is also critically important for cardiovascular health and prevention of osteoporosis. Estrogen is also responsible for regulating weight loss/weight gain and maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. Estrogen levels drop naturally with age and increase a women’s risk of heart attacks, strokes, and osteoporosis.
