What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is an essential ingredient for your skin!  The word “acid” may sound like something you do not want to be applying to your skin, but it is not an acid at all. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like, water holding molecule made by the body.  It is present in all body fluids and tissues, but more concentrated in our skin, joints, eyes, and nerves. Our skin retains 50% of our hyaluronic acid, and this gel-like substance is responsible for keeping our skin hydrated and plump. Hyaluronic acid is essential to anti-aging regimens, especially since our body’s own production decreases with age.

The benefits of hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is an excellent moisturizer, holding onto water in the skin’s cells and keeping our skin plump, supple, and firm.  It also improves the skin’s elasticity, increases cell turn over, and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.  When hyaluronic acid is applied to the skin as a serum or moisturizer, studies have shown it reduces wrinkles, redness, and dermatitis.
